Work in Progress Wednesday

Welcome to Work in Progress Wednesday!
If you are looking for Sew Mama Sew Giveaway, please click HERE.  There is still plenty of time to enter, and to those who have already entered Good Luck!  I have enjoyed reading all your comments.  They have made me laugh and warmed my heart.

On my sewing table this week....

....are some bee blocks that are finally done.
These are the May blocks for A Twist on Tradition quilting bee.  Alison asked us to make a 16 patch block of our choice made up of only squares and HST's.  Don't you just love the fabric she picked out?

Remember this pile of scraps?  Well, originally they were going to be incorporated into the back of my Double Hour Glass Quilt, but things didn't work out as I had planned.  I ended up not piecing the back and used a single print.  I am very happy with how it came out but I was still left with this pile of scraps...

...and they ended up in these cute little postage stamp blocks.  This makes me very happy because I hate throwing away even the tiniest bits of fabrics.  Also, my scrap bin was getting a little out of control.  So, I dug into that mess too.  I think this will be my scrap quilt for 2011.  I have put these blocks away for now, but as I accumulate more scraps I will pull them out again and hopefully by the end of the year I will have enough to complete a quilt top.

Last but not least here is the fabric I pulled from my stash this morning.  The beginnings of my next quilt.  :)

Have a great week! I am linking up to Freshly Pieced, Work in Progress Wednesday.

  8. Fun projects! I think I am going to start a scrap quilt with my leaders and enders. Just need to do some slicing and dicing. I like the white with the scraps in your postage stamp blocks. Are those bees in the fabric at the bottom?
